In honor of Father's Day on June 18th, we're highlighting some volunteers who are exceptionally close to our hearts: our own fathers! And who better to start with than my own beleaguered father?
After 37 years, my dad, Jim, retired from his position as Assistant Director of Accounting for the City of Rochester. Suddenly, he had plenty of time on his hands and found himself at a loss as to what to do with it. Like all family members of InterVol employees, we allowed that free time to last precisely one day before putting him to work.
Though he knew nothing about medical supplies and had no medical background whatsoever, he gamely did whatever he could, from loading containers and building boxes to sorting gloves and gauze and doing extra pickups.
THANK YOU, DAD / JIM! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
